We have joined with State and Federal organisations who are also interested in prompting the safe flying of all types of model aircraft. At a federal level we are affiliated with the Model Aircraft Association of Australia (MAAA) and at a state level with Aeromodelling NSW (ANSW). These organisations represent us to government organisations like the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) to help us get permission to fly in Australian airspace. Through them we also access a wider network of aeromodellers, modelling resources and up to $50M insurance cover against damage to other people and their property. The club recently obtained a grant from the MAAA to improve its clubhouse facilities and uses Manuals of Procedures developed by the MAAA to ensure safe operations.
